A Seasonal Sampling....

by Linda Meyers, was my choice for Friday Frolicking this week.  This also my first FNwF for 2020, hosted on the first Friday of every month but the lovely Cheryll of Gone Stitchin'

Before:

 After:

...and this is what it will look like once it is finished.

I do love the detail in this one, and the muted colours.

On a sadder note, I would like to ask for your prayers for those affected by the almost apocalyptic bushfires that we are currently experiencing in Australia. A number of people have lost their lives and many more have lost their homes.
Click on the two images below to read articles about the size of the bushfires and the extent of the devastation.

Many species of Australian animals are at risk due to the sheer size of the fires, including our beloved koalas:

Luckily, TraderVic and I are safe at the moment here in Eaglemont, although only three or four suburbs away a few metropolitan suburbs were at risk last weekend.

So, please send your prayers out to all those brave firefighters and to the families who have lost family members and/or their homes.

hugs,

That looks like a long term project!
It is so awful to see pictures of the fires and those affected on our tv screens. My thoughts and prayers are with them. xx

That's a lovely cross stitch. I like the muted tones too.
The fires are awful. We have had smoke most day from various nearby fires since October. It feels like they will never be extinguished and it is so sad. The poor animals and bushland (no houses are under threat here at the moment).

This is a lovely project, beautiful colours.
Sometimes it's a good idea to focus on the craft when you are powerless to help in a situation.
I have seen some designs being sold to raise funds for the firefighting.

Lovely stitching Kaye!
It’s so sad seeing what is happening out there.
I’m glad you are safe for the moment.
Thinking of you all each day

That is a gorgeous piece and nice to get some work in on it. Every day I've been hoping to hear things are getting better out your way. I've shared every article, donated, done whatever I can think of to get awareness as high as possible. Fingers crossed you stay safe.
