Advancing with the Dreamcatcher - Little Stitches Art

Last Friday I was stitching for the Friday Frolics. As I did last month I decided to use the opportunity to advance with my dreamcatcher. I didn't stitch too much as I had a very hard week but I advance a little bit. So, every little helps.....

Counting Bats not Sheep!

This week for FF I have rediscovered a WIP from 2016 ....Counting Bats by Just Nan.

Now, I love this design and I was stitching it for the 2016 Hallowe'en SAL but somehow I abandoned around May 2016.  I have no idea why as I cannot think of anything that was happening around that time to make me give up on the SAL for that year.

Anyway, it is back for today, hurray!

It would be nice if I could get another band done this weekend, wouldn't it?

Please feel free to come back tomorrow to see how much progress I make today/this evening.

Late again

Hello friends,

here is my update on my Friday stitching. The number generator had chosen the #16 among my WIPs, which is a design by Italian designer Sara Guermani, Stitching & Quilting Party.

Here is the part I stitched, I finished the cloud that I had started before, the three birds and started on the little house

And this is the overall design

Meanwhile I have added some more in that upper right corner and I'm still stitching on this project. It's just too much fun to put it away.

Until next Friday.

More on that slipper hunt.....

Well, some success on finding that slipper for Cinderella - it may not look like much progress but I am pretty pleased with how much more stitching was done - she is one of those very big projects that take a lot of stitching!

 Progress.....

What she will look like one day!

How did you all go with your frolicking last night?

Barbara - The Flashing Scissors (2018 - 2)

Hello Dear Friends,

The last few Fridays I have been working on my oldest project again, and coincidentally I found I hadn't blogged about this one since this time last year.

It is quite hard to hold and stitch with this frame, and I need a magnifying glass a lot of the time. In fact, you can see the magnifying glass got in the way of my photo here:

The Flashing Scissors

I've been putting this off because I really wasn't looking forward to stitching all the framework, and even now I am not looking forward to going back and finishing it, as most of this is just half stitches.

I've found it a lot easier to work on since I bought a new magnifying glass and light which I can attach to the frame, although, of course, it does make the frame a bit heavier to hold!

The Flashing Scissors

To ensure the borders all met up I started again at the top left, but this time I'm crossing all the stitches!

The Flashing Scissors

It will be a long while before it's all finished, but by joining in with Friday Frolics I'm being more motivated to carry on!

Not sure if I will stitch this tonight, you might well be tired of seeing it now, so I might go and search in the Dreaded Cupboard to see if I have some other old project that needs some TLC!

Happy Stitching All!!!!

Hugs,

Looking for that lost slipper....

Today for Friday Frolics I have pulled out a very old WIP/UFO..... my darling Cinderella by Mirabilia.

I just checked back on my old posts on my main blog, Kitten Stitching and if you click here you will see that it has been FIVE YEARS since I last stitched on/posted about her!!!!!!!!!  Oh, my goodness!

So, please check back tomorrow to see how much progress I make.

One of my oldest UFOs

Hello friends,

last Friday my number generator came up with #4 - Old Teddies by Anna Krajewski. I stitched it about 15 years ago but then abandoned it. When I left it back then it looked like that

I thought I could do a little bit of backstitching and stitched all the backstitches in the picture above the big teddy.

I have no idea when it will come out again. But the next will be the backstitching of the basket and the twigs in the basket.

Happy Stitching,
Brigitte

A rather sad Secret Santa....

Hmm! Not a lot of progress on Secret Santa last night.  As I said last post - I had not had the opportunity to touch needle to fabric until well after dinner but here goes anyway...

Before:

Secret Santa
Lavender & Lace
Fabric: 28 ct Dirty Linen (I think)
Suggested Floss (I think)

After:

Here's hoping that you all had more success than I did last night....

An oldie barely touched!

This week's Friday Frolic is a very oldie that has barely been started... hopefully I will make some progress on it during tonight's stitching session....

Secret Santa
Lavender & Lace
Fabric: 28 ct Dirty Linen (I think)
Suggested Floss (I think).

I had better get a wriggle on, hadn't I?

What are you stitching for Friday Frolics or this long weekend here in Melbourne?

hugs,

P.S. The last time I pulled this out was over a year ago for FF.

Check that post out here.

Stitching snow in spring

Hello dear friends,

last Friday I didn't have time to stitch so I made it a Saturday Frolics. As usual I let the Random Number Generator choose among my WIPs and it chose Snow Days by Mirabilia. This would never have been my own choice as last week we had the Beast from the East reigning our weather with such low temperatures that going outside wasn't an option. At all. Since Sunday we have spring, finally.

But then I said "let's face it and stitch snow"! Here is where I left back in April 2016

Of course I couldn't put the project down after Saturday in spite of all the snow and extended the Saturday Frolics a bit until yesterday. This is where I am now

I added all the snow on the right hand side downwards. It's not really a lot but I'm a slow stitcher and I'm quite happy with the result.

Next Friday I will come up with a new WIP - whatever my RNG will choose for me.

Happy Stitching!
Brigitte

Happy Dance x 2!

Yay! I had great success with my two kitty cats yesterday for Friday Frolics plus I also made great progress on my Witch's Kitchen, too!

Alphabet Cats by JBW Designs

Witch's Kitchen a freebie by The Primitive Hare

A most successful Friday Frolics, how about you?

Thursday 1 March 2018

I think....

... that it will be another trilogy of stitching again this Friday and maybe, a Happy Dance or two, if I am lucky!

So, I went to my WIP pile and pulled out this box...

.... opened the lid and found this inside ....

JBW Designs Alphabet Cat, personalised to look like Furio ....

... with only the "F", "U", "R" and "O" to go!  This should be a speedy run to that Happy Dance!

Inside I also found the fabric and thread to stitch an Alphabet Milo! So, I figure just like Proverbi 3 last week, that counts as a WIP as well!

I am also planning to put some more love into this sweet freebie from The Primitive Hare... "Witch's Kitchen".

So, lots of Frolicking for me today, fingers crossed!

hugs,
