A long neglected UFO...

... finally made a return appearance after languishing for about six and a half years!!!!!!

Check out my last post which featured "The Faerie Queen Sampler" by The Scarlet Letter way back in July 2013.

[The troubles to which I refer in this post are the fact that my mother was dying (her health failed dramatically from March that year until her death on Nov 25, 2013) and that my work was in the midst of a huge restructure and that my job was hanging in the balance for a while there in 2013].

Anyway, here she is pre-Friday Frolics yesterday:

... and for Friday Frolics I managed to finish the satin stitch on the other half of the leaf.  I must say, this is stitched with silk thread which is a dream to stitch with.

However, as you can see from the pic below, I still have a looooong way to go until this beauty is finished. Although I am determined not to wait another six and a half years to stitch on her again.

When FNSI and Friday Frolics collide.... February edition

I worked on two projects yesterday, Friday, for FNSI and Friday Frolics - one small and one larger.... and drum roll, please.....

Both are Happy Dances!

First is PS Santa 2005 - I love the fact that he is holding a quilt and sewing equipment.

... and the second is Snowflake Serenade by CCN - I really love this design - the soft palette is so very gorgeous.

As you can imagine, I am Happy Dancing all over the house to have two finishes, especially Snowflake Serenade, which has been in my WIP pile for a while now.

Jour d'Hiver

or A Winter's Day by Lili Violette, is the WIP I chose to stitch on this Friday.  I was pleased to work on this as it is one of my "20 in '20" for WIPocalypse, so it was great to pick it up this year.

Oh, my goodness, the last time I posted on this was 24 March, 2015 - nearly five years ago!  It looked like this way back then:

but I obviously did stitch more on it at some point because now it looks like this:

Unfortunately, I didn't get very much time yesterday (Friday) to stitch on it as I had a very busy day (coffee with girlfriends, afternoon at the hairdressers and dinner out for Valentine's Day) and then I spent most of that stitching time deciding upon which blue to use for the flowers as I didn't like the original DMC 931. So, I auditioned a few other colours and eventually settled upon Gentle Arts Blue Jay (which is one of my favourite variegated blues).  I am very happy with how this blue is looking now.

Quaker Village

For last week's Friday Frolics, I dug up out of my Girl's Nest, this beautiful design from Rosewood Manor: Quaker Village. The last time I posted about this was way back in January 2015 on my main blog, Kitten Stitching - at least it has grown considerably since then (not sure why there are not more posts on it)

Anyway, this is where it was on Friday morning:

Unfortunately the Frog Prince came to visit (only fleetingly, luckily) and the dark green bit on the bottom right had to be frogged and re-stitched.  I also managed a few green stitches on the left hand side pink square.  I can see that this is going to be a very long term project as it is very fiddly....

... but it will be worth it, if I ever get this far - lol!
