Serendipitous Jo's Forty-Third Frolic of the Year

Last Friday was IHSW but since I finished Elizabeth Shephard I don't have a specific project for the third weekend, I just stitch whatever I've been working on that week.

Which was Byzantine Ornament 3 by Teresa Wentzler:

I also continued the Ghastly, Ghostly Ghouls by Just Nan:

And started finishing my Christmas Cubes by Primitive Hare!  One a week until Christmas:

Serendipitous Jo's Forty-Second Frolic of the Year

Because I made a little error in counting my Fridays I am treating this one as the Fifth Friday in September and stitching a Teresa Wentzler Ornament!

I also completed my evening project on Friday, this has been the Hallowe'en Town by Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery:

And the final Hallowe'en Cube!  yay!

Serendipitous Jo's Thirty-First Frolic of the Year

Last Friday was the Fifth Friday in the month of July so as I'm working a four week rotation each Friday I get a bonus project!  I have chosen the Teresa Wentzler Byzantine Ornaments as my Fifth Friday projects and started work on the second one this weekend.

Here's my progress:

This one is so much quicker than the first one, seen below.  You can see I have totally changed the colour scheme again.  I'm using the charted gold colours but the accent colour is DMC 321.  I've added some extra splashes of red too.  And yes, I am aware that one satin stitch diamond is incomplete, I used the end of the length and I'm going to finish it when I use that colour in the outer diamonds next.

Serendipitous Jo's Twenty-Sixth Frolic of the Year

Half-way through the Frolicking Year already!

Last Friday I stitched on my Teresa Wentzler dragon design; You Were Hatched.  And I've done the same thing this Friday so look out for another update soon!

Here's where it was last weekend:

All the Blues completed

And here's where it was as of yesterday before this weekend's stitching

All the Greens completed

What are you Frolicking on this weekend?  Don't forget to post a picture!

Serendipitous Jo's Eighteenth Frolic of the Year

Last Friday was the Fifth Friday in the month and I have nominated this event to be Teresa Wentzler Friday.  Which does not alliterate at all.

Heather Silver Lotus is stitching the Byzantine Ornaments as her contribution to the Smalls SAL and I love them.  She has inspired me to start mine.

I am using a burgundy 28 count linen which I had scraps of in my stash.  Not much of a margin but just enough!

Here is my progress on Ornie 1:

You can see the thread sorter I have made because the same gold colours are used in each design.  They are so similar and yet in traditional TW style she has chosen to blend them!

Because I changed the fabric colour, I have changed the accent colour too.  The originals use green, blue or lilac but I will use red 321 for each ornament.

I'm going to continue with this one today and see if I get a Bank Holiday Monday finish.
