Hello everyone! Here I am slightly late with my update from last Friday's stitching effort...
Last week I finally got around to starting Little House Needleworks "Old Glory". This design was one of my Stitch Maynia starts, but it was mainly chosen to fit into another SAL on the Stitch Maynia group to celebrate the state of Texas.
I am stitching the design with the DMC conversion rather than the fancy floss, but that's ok because it will still be a gorgeous finish (one day!). Fabric is 28ct Lugana "Dapple" from Picture This Plus.
I was really surprised with my progress on Friday night.... Border all done! :o)

The Bookshelf...
Another Friday has come and gone... and this week I pulled out the same project as I stitched on last Friday.
I was doing a SAL for Stitch Maynia last week and the daily challenge for Friday related to schools/school work - so my thought pattern went along the lines of what type of books that you would see at school. I suspect that most literary classics are in the majority of school libraries still, so I thought that would be a nice segway (segue) to my "Bookshelf" WIP!
"The Bookshelf" - Little House Needleworks
Fabric: 28ct Opal Lugana "Gaia" - Under The Sea Fabrics
Threads: DMC as charted
I managed a good bit of progress this time round as I had Friday off work and was able to get more than my usual 1-2hrs a day stitching time in!!
Til next time, Happy Stitching

I did it!!!
Guess what? I think this is my first Friday Frolics post for 2018! That doesn't mean I haven't stitched on a Friday... it's just that I keep forgetting to post about it!!
So without further ado....
Friday 20th April 2018 - Friday Frolics
For my Friday Frolics I decided to pull out one of my many Little House Needleworks WIPs! I didn't manage to get a lot done but progress is progress! I originally started this design for the Jane Austen Reading and Stitching FB group SAL. The first part of the SAL was related to "Sense and Sensibility"... hence the strange starting point! I now plan to add the author names before deciding which way to go from there.

Noni's April Post #1
Ok... so where did the rest of February and all of March go? I had such great plans to most on the FF blog every weekend... but I blinked and missed a month or so of weekends! Never mind another Friday is just around the corner!
So I thought I would give you a little bit of an update on my Friday night stitching project... Faces of Joan Elliott SAL
The last time you saw this project was back in January and I was working on the Holly Fairy
I haven't done any more on her recently, instead I moved on and started the Unicorn square.
And that is as far as I have gotten with this one....
Most Friday nights I have been working on various other pieces which I haven't always taken a photo of... so I will just leave this post here for now and try and come back on the weekend with an update on this project!
Til next time, happy stitching and may the frog not come for a visit at your house! :o)

Noni's February Post #1
Where did January go? February is 6 days in already... oh my goodness..... time is speeding away as usual!
I am back again today to show you what I was stitching on for Friday night. I had planned to bring out my Faces of Joan Elliott again... but I got side tracked by the Frosted Pumpkin's Happily Ever After SAL!!
I managed to get a little bit more of the side border done and more of the pussycat. I have changed the border to a Dinky Dyes thread called "Kalamunda". There is a sentimental reason for using this thread... but you will have to read about it on my blog :o)
February's square is out now and is quite a small one so hopefully I will get both January and February done this month!
Til next week... happy stitching!

Noni's January Post #4
Better late than never.... just managed to squeeze one more post in before the end of the month!
Last Friday I had an annual leave day (Australia Day was on Thursday so I joined in with probably about 75% of the country and took Friday off for the 4 day weekend!) - sorry I digress.... so I had Friday off and had plans to just stitch all day ...
However.... my plans to stitch on my Joan Elliott piece didn't quite go to plan as I got sidetracked a bit!
Instead of stitching on Faces of JE on Friday night I finished off my moon on my Halloween Happiness project for the Halloween Ornie Blog.
My JE project will come back into the Friday night rotation again this week and will stay out until I get the Holly Fairy finished at the very least!
Til next week.... have lots fun frolicking and stitching!

Noni's January Post #3
Hi there!
I am now planning to keep this WIP out for a bit longer than January so hopefully I will actually finish this square at long last! Maybe it might just have to stay my Friday night project until the whole project is completely finished!
Yet another Friday has come and gone... and I managed to put a few more stitches in on the "Holly Fairy". Not a lot of progress but every stitch done is a stitch less to do!

Noni - January Post #2
Hi there!
Just a quick post today... Friday night saw my "Faces of Joan Elliott SAL" come out again. I managed to get an hour or so of stitching in on the "Holly Fairy".
There are couple more Friday's yet to come in January so fingers crossed this block will be almost finished when the month is over.

Noni - January Post #1
Hi there! Long time no post!
Last night was the first time in ages that I remembered to take a photo of my stitching starting point so that I could do a Friday Frolics post! This year I am going to try and use my Friday night stitching as more of a focused stitching time with a hope/plan that I might get a long forgotten WIP finished. This month's WIP that I want to focus on is the "Faces of Joan Elliott SAL" that I started back in 2014!
My starting point last night looks like this:
I worked on the "Holly Fairy" in the bottom corner and she now looks like this:
Sunday, 16 October 2016
Shock, Horror....
Please don't faint with shock...
but I have finally remembered to not only take a before and after photo on Friday night... but I have even managed to get my behind into gear and post my FF post!!
I won't look to see when I last posted on the FF blog as it will be way to embarrassing to mention! hanging my head in shame ;o(
So onto to my Friday night stitching....
One of my October starts is the "Merry Christmas 2015" sampler from the 2015 Just Cross Stitch Christmas edition. The designer of this piece is "From the Heart ~ NeedleArt by Wendy".
I am stitching this on a very pale (washed out) pink piece of fabric (Fairy Tales) from Colour Cascades Fabrics. I am not using the recommended threads - I have switched them all out to what I had in my stash! The letters are Dinky Dyes (Pilbara), the tree is Dragon Floss (Stem Green) and the star and tree trunk are DMC colours similar to what was charted.
So that was my Friday Night Frolic... no promises as to when I will remember to post again, so I will just say til next time... Happy Stitching and Frolicing!
Hugs xx

Prancing on a Friday!
Yee hah!! I not only remembered to photograph my Friday night stitching before I started stitching last night... but as you can see I have even managed to post today! Will wonders never cease?! :o)
Last night I carried on stitching on Prancer. He needs a little bit more love so that I can say I finally have a finish...
Here's what he looked like after I picked him up and stitched on Thursday night:
Then last night I finished off the Kreinik stitching at the bottom and then I started on the white part of the border:
The side part of the border I stitched twice as I was out by one thread.... so annoying. I think the sparkle of the Kreinik and the sparkle of the thread made me miscount..... Hopefully I am in the right place now!
So that's last night's stitching progress. I am probably going to work on him again today so that I can do his tail and then start the beading.
Til next time... whenever that may be
Happy Stitching!

Frolicking with February!
Yep... you read right.. I spent Friday night frolicking with February! This time around I picked up the Joyful World SAL "February" by Snowflower Diaries - as my Friday night project.
This is where I was when I started stitching on Friday:
And this is what it looked like after Friday night:
Quite pleased with my progress on this one... I did keep it out over the weekend and managed to get a lot more done. All I need to do now is stitch the border and it will be done! I will show an update on my blog once I get it finished.
See you next week

Friday Night Christmas stitching
I remembered to take a photo before starting on my Friday night stitching....
"Very Merry Christmas" - Medina Originals
Just Cross Stitch Christmas 2015 magazine
Before I started stitching on Friday night:
Very Merry Christmas is now finished.... I stitched this for the JCS SAL on FB. The fabric is 32ct Belfast "Camofudge" from Stitches & Spice. Unfortunately I couldn't get a good photo that shows the true colour of the fabric.... the progress photo above is a bit closer to the true colour of the fabric.
Sadly I had an email from Noami the other day to say that due to ill health she is closing down Stitches & Spice.... such a shame. I love her fabrics - hopefully she has enough in stock so that I can get some more of my favourites before the doors close for the last time!
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Til next time, happy stitching

I remembered to post...
Hello... long time no post!! I have been stitching but just keep forgetting to take photos at the right time and post ;o(
Last Friday night I decided to dive into the WIP pile and see what took my fancy! Out came this little WIP which was one of my DUCSJC2016 and Cross Stitch Crazy January starts. When I left it on January 7 it looked like this....
... and now after stitching on it last Friday night for Friday Frolics it is finished... and framed!
"With Love" - Designer: Lesley Teare
Free Gift from Cross Stitch Card Shop
The free gift included a card but I decided to paint up a small frame and use the card opening as a mount instead. (Think I went a bit overboard with the dots!! I was definitely feeling my inner dottiness when I painted this on Sunday!!)
So that was last week... I will try and remember to do a before and after picture of my stitching tonight so that I can come back and post again next week!
Til next time, happy stitching and frolicking!

A little Friday night stitching...
Friday night's stitching was all about the creepy tree and friends that I have been trying to get finished for the November and December Hallowe'en SAL Blog themes.

The pic above shows you where I was at with this before Friday night's stitching and the pic below is the creepy tree finished.... along with the raven, cat and resident ghosts!

I didn't really need to do much on Friday night - just finish the branch off near the left hand ghost... I still need to add beads and a bit of backstitch but that will be done at the end when everything else is stitched.
Did you notice my lovely new needle minder? Just perfect for Halloween stitching - a spider in his silvery blingy web!
Next Friday is Christmas.... and unless I pig out too much on turkey and Christmas pud I will most likely be stitching.... so hopefully I will have something to show you! But if not, Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
Happy stitching and frolicking ♥♥♥

Friday Night Dancing...
First Friday night of frolicking for a couple of weeks... and I am back working on "Dancing in the Moonlight" designed by Praiseworthy Stitches.
I have been stitching on this all week as my "spooky tree" for the Halloween SAL Blog. It's not quite finished yet but we are getting there!
So before I started stitching on Friday night my creepy tree looked like this;

Parisienne Kitty
Another Friday has been and gone.... and I even managed to get some stitches in!
The design I am going to show you today is called "ABC Chats" by Les Brodeus Parisiennes. I am stitching the kitties for a monthly Alphabet inspired stitch along - more details on my blog - link is here....
Last night when I picked up the afghan the "C" kitty looked like this:
Then after an hour or so of stitching he looked like this:
The image below is from the Les Brodeus Parisiennes website and shows you what they will all look like when stitched.... (Kaye, just thought you might like to be tempted again!!) :o)
Catch you all next week..... wonder what "WIP/UFO" I will find to stitch on next Friday?
Happy Stitching and Frolicking... ♥♥♥

More Christmas Mice....
The title gives you a rather big clue what I stitched on last night.... Christmas Mice!
I decided to get the mice finished this week so Friday night saw me continue to stitch on another of my Margaret Sherry Xmas Mice... Xmas Mouse #3.
Before I started he looked like this:
And after last night's stitching effort he now looks like this:
My plan is to now get finish off all the backstitching either this afternoon or tonight...
See you next week! Happy Stitching!

Angelic Friday!
Well hello to another Monday (or at least it is Monday where I am!)
I managed to get some Friday night stitching in this time.... instead of stitching on an old WIP on Friday night I decided to stitch on my October piece for the Christmas Ornie SAL. (This month is rapidly drawing to a close and I haven't done my angel or nativity piece yet!).
I actually started this new design on Thursday evening, so when Friday came around the Angel looked like this:
After stitching on Friday night, the Angel looked like this:
This little angel can be found in a very old Cross Stitch Christmas magazine (1999) - design is called "Joyful Angels Triptych" and is designed by Mona Eno. I am stitching her on a piece of "Waratah" 32 count fabric from Stitches and Spice.
I continued stitching on her over the weekend, so if you would like to see where she is at now... pop over to my blog for an update!
Hope everyone had a successful Friday night of stitching!
See you next week

MS Christmas Mouse
Sorry.... bit late posting my Friday Frolics stitching, but better late than never!
On Friday night I decided to stitch on a small as I was feeling completely cream crackered after a very looonnngg week at work and I didn't want to stitch on something that I needed to think about (and stuff up) and then frog it all out next time I picked it up!!!
So I picked up this cute little Christmas mouse and nearly finished him on Friday... I started this way back in January and he hasn't had much love since then so he was the perfect candidate for a Friday night.
Before FF stitching:
and after a couple of Friday night wines he looked like this:
