When FNSI and Friday Frolics collide.... February edition

I worked on two projects yesterday, Friday, for FNSI and Friday Frolics - one small and one larger.... and drum roll, please.....

Both are Happy Dances!

First is PS Santa 2005 - I love the fact that he is holding a quilt and sewing equipment.

... and the second is Snowflake Serenade by CCN - I really love this design - the soft palette is so very gorgeous.

As you can imagine, I am Happy Dancing all over the house to have two finishes, especially Snowflake Serenade, which has been in my WIP pile for a while now.

Thanks for visiting and please don't forget to leave a comment as I do love a good chat.

Also, don't forget to check out the other FNSIers, here.

When FNSI and Friday Frolics collide.... January edition

I worked on three projects last night for FNSI, two smalls and one larger.

First up is the 2005 Prairie Schooler Santa, which is the first of the yearly PS Santas for a SAL with my dear friend, Marie (we plan to stitch all of them over the next couple of years).

Before:
 FNSI Progress:

My second project in last night's rotation was Winter Wonderland by CCN.  I do love this design - it is so very pretty.

Before:

FNSI Progress:  I stitched the two doves on the bottom panel (my goal is to get the bottom panel finished by the end of this weekend for IHSW - there will be a post on this on Monday).

... and I finished the Let it Snow panel - I added extra snowflakes 'cos I liked them so much.

I also worked on this unknown piece, just for fun!

Nearly a New Year.....

..... so I thought that I should make at least one post here for 2019!  Yes, folks, it has been a year and four days since I lasted posted on here - where did that year go?

Well, we moved into the new house (Back House - part one of the Two House project) and we have been here a year (if any of you follow me on IG - Kaisievic - or FB - Kaye De Petro - you will have seen lots of pics of the house over the past year).  In a few weeks, the front house will be demolished and we start on building House 2 - the Front House - yikes!  So, another year that will be very busy.

Anyway, enough of that - let's be frank - we are all here for the stitching - lol!

So, as I think that my blogging mojo may have returned - yay! Thanks to a push from my dear friend, Jo from Serendipitous Stitching, I felt the need to start my stitching regimes again, starting with my Friday Frolics. This is a very loose SAL, whereby I and any other member, will randomly pull out a WIP/UFO on a Friday and stitch on it.

As 2019 has been a year of stitching Christmas smalls - you can see all my Christmas stitching on my main blog, Kitten Stitching - I thought that I would work on this WIP - "Snowflake Serenade" by CCN.  This is where I was up to before yesterday (Friday):

... and this is my progress - I am getting close to a finish!

Anyway, I hope to stay more focused this year and post regularly on all my stitching blogs (or at least a few of them).

A Friday Frolics Happy Dance.....

As I predicted in my last post, I finished Silent Night last evening.  I am very pleased with how it has turned out - I love its subdued colourway.

But I would love to ask all of you for some advice. I am planning to finish it with possibly a white pom pom trim (like my red pom pom trim on Joyeux Noel) but I would love your opinion on which backing fabric to use: Option 1 (pale blue and silver) or Option 2 (mid blue with yellow stars)?

Option 1....

Option 2....

... and here are both options together....

I think I know which one I will go with but I would still love to hear your opinion.

Woo Hoo!

Yet another Friday Frolics post for September!

For Friday Frolics (and FNSI), I picked up Winter in the Village by Stoney Creek Designs.

This is what my village looked like before I started - as you can see I had to start with a bit of frogging as I had used the wrong green (you should see the floss list for this design  - so many colours!).

This is where I got up to after FNSI:

I then kept stitching on it over the weekend for IHSW and this is now where I am up to:

I made great progress on last week's Friday Frolics piece, Silent Night by CCN during last week and this past weekend - should have a finish on this tonight, I hope.

Have you been Frolicking lately?

Finally!

Finally, another Friday Frolic post from moi!  I don't quite know where my blogging mojo has gone - oh wait! I am SUPER BUSY! lol!

See this post on Kitten Stitching to find out why.

However, my stitching mojo is as strong as ever and this is what I picked up to stitch on this past Friday....

"Silent Night" by CCN. The fabric is actually much bluer than this.

I'll post an update early next week as to how much stitching I managed over the weekend.

Did you Friday Frolic this week?

My Twenty-third, Twenty-fourth, Twenty-fifth and Twenty-sixth Frolics for 2017...

Obviously, I DO need to be more organised each Saturday to post about my Friday Frolics!  Note to self: Do better.

Anyway, this post is a Fourfer - four weeks of Frolics in one!

Twenty-third Frolic: June 16th

I remember that I had a really productive day for my Twenty-third Frolic, I actually had nothing on that day (amazing in itself), so I spent most of the day pottering around in my Girl's Nest and catching up on my Masterchef watching.

This is what I worked on:

I finished the stitching on "Accept this trifle from a friend" (which is a freebie from Plum Street Samplers) and then I searched through my fabric stash to find the perfect green fabric for the backing (it matches the bird exactly) - very happy to find it.

I also FFOed, Singin' in the Spring (CCN) - again with fabrics from my stash - this time I used bright 1930s fabrics.

I also did a bit on my Nutcracker Sampler

I also pulled out this Happy Halloween UFO but I put it away again as I couldn't find the relevant threads but maybe it will come out again soon for Friday Frolics.

(Psst! If you are wondering what the real reason is as to why I put it away again, it is the fact that the pumpkins are stitched using Smyrna Crosses and it was Soooo fiddly getting them right - and there are still two more to go - yikes!)

I also pulled out this UFO ...  Snowmates by Blue Ribbon Designs from the JCS Christmas Ornie Magazine 2015.

.... and worked on it a little more.

So, a very successful Twenty-Third Friday Frolic.

Twenty-fourth Frolic: June 23rd

For this Frolic, I picked up Afternoon in London by CCN, this is a gift for a friend's 60th and I really need to get a wriggle on as she is going to turn 61 at the end of July!  (Only a little late with this one, but it did take us a while to find the right design for her tastes.)

I managed to get quite a bit done on that Friday and over the rest of the weekend, as you can see.

Loving stitching this one, gorgeous muted palette and the fabric I am stitching on is a dream to work with.

Twenty-fifth Frolic: June 30th

For this frolic, I thought that I should get a wriggle on with my Red Robin pouch.

So, I went from here....

... to this....

I am really happy with how the red Japanese beads make the design pop and give it that real Christmassy feel.

Twenty-sixth Frolic: July 7th

On July 7th, I picked up Afternoon in Paris by CCN again, as I do really need to get it finished very soon.

So, it went from this ....

.... to this...

Getting so close to a finish now!

So, that is four weeks of Frolicking for you, I am so looking forward to picking up another WIP this coming Friday - only two more sleeps!

hugs, Kaye
