A rather sad Secret Santa....

Hmm! Not a lot of progress on Secret Santa last night.  As I said last post - I had not had the opportunity to touch needle to fabric until well after dinner but here goes anyway...

Before:

Secret Santa
Lavender & Lace
Fabric: 28 ct Dirty Linen (I think)
Suggested Floss (I think)

After:

Here's hoping that you all had more success than I did last night....

An oldie barely touched!

This week's Friday Frolic is a very oldie that has barely been started... hopefully I will make some progress on it during tonight's stitching session....

Suggested Floss (I think).

I had better get a wriggle on, hadn't I?

What are you stitching for Friday Frolics or this long weekend here in Melbourne?

P.S. The last time I pulled this out was over a year ago for FF.

Check that post out here.

Stitching snow in spring

Hello dear friends,

last Friday I didn't have time to stitch so I made it a Saturday Frolics. As usual I let the Random Number Generator choose among my WIPs and it chose Snow Days by Mirabilia. This would never have been my own choice as last week we had the Beast from the East reigning our weather with such low temperatures that going outside wasn't an option. At all. Since Sunday we have spring, finally.

But then I said "let's face it and stitch snow"! Here is where I left back in April 2016

Of course I couldn't put the project down after Saturday in spite of all the snow and extended the Saturday Frolics a bit until yesterday. This is where I am now

I added all the snow on the right hand side downwards. It's not really a lot but I'm a slow stitcher and I'm quite happy with the result.

Next Friday I will come up with a new WIP - whatever my RNG will choose for me.

Happy Stitching!

Happy Dance x 2!

Yay! I had great success with my two kitty cats yesterday for Friday Frolics plus I also made great progress on my Witch's Kitchen, too!

A most successful Friday Frolics, how about you?

I think....

... that it will be another trilogy of stitching again this Friday and maybe, a Happy Dance or two, if I am lucky!

So, I went to my WIP pile and pulled out this box...

.... opened the lid and found this inside ....

JBW Designs Alphabet Cat, personalised to look like Furio ....

... with only the "F", "U", "R" and "O" to go!  This should be a speedy run to that Happy Dance!

Inside I also found the fabric and thread to stitch an Alphabet Milo! So, I figure just like Proverbi 3 last week, that counts as a WIP as well!

I am also planning to put some more love into this sweet freebie from The Primitive Hare... "Witch's Kitchen".

So, lots of Frolicking for me today, fingers crossed!

The Cat has Hatched!

I had great success with my Friday Frolics last week - I loved stitching Proverbi 4 so much that I kept up with it over the weekend and had a Happy Dance!

This is the companion piece to Proverbi 3 (you can see the two pieces together if you scroll down).

The saying "Gatto ci cova" means "The cat is hatching" ie up to something no good! You can read more about it here.

Next post, coming up shortly you will see what WIP I have found for this week - I can feel another Happy Dance coming on!

An early start to Friday Frolics this week...

.... as I knew that I was going to have a busy day on Friday and out to the first play of the Heidelberg Theatre Company in the evening, I cheated a little and started my FF on Thursday.

When I went to my Stash pile of UFOs and WIPs, I found this ....

Proverbi 3 and 4 by Paola Gattiblu

Now, whilst technically NOT a WIP or UFO, I did finish the top design, Proverbi 3 way back in January 2016.

Click on the image if you would like to read that blog post from my main blog, Kitten Stitching.

... and I have been meaning to stitch Proverbi 4 ever since.  So, I decided that NOW was the time.... and this is where I am up to now.

As my Rotation Relay for the Olympic Challenge has got a bit out of hand, I am going to focus on this for project for the rest of the weekend. Hopefully, I will get close to a finish.

Now, you may notice that neither of the cats are black, although this is what the design calls for.  The reason for this is that I have stitched Furio into Proverbi 3

and Proverbi 4 will be Milo, of course!

Ooops! Look that naughty Furio has managed to sneak his tail into Milo's photo!

Well, that is all for me for now,

Enjoy your weekend,

May you get lots and lots of stitching done.
