More FUN with Friday Frolics and FNSI...

Last night was another "TwoferOne" as it was both a Friday Frolics night AND Friday Night Sew In (FNSI).  I had a very productive evening as I managed to put stitches into not one by two projects and I have a Happy Dance for one of them - way to go moi!

Both of these projects I began on 15th January, 2015!!!!!! Yep, six years ago but as they popped up this week as my Friday Frolics projects they finally got some love!

First up is a Lizzie Kate design, "Well behaved Women" - as you can see I used my own choice of colours  and although some of the lettering is a bit pale, with the right fabric when I finish it as a cushion, I think it will pop!

As this was a Friday Frolics project, I am going to have my first Giveaway of 2021 of this cute design (no little button nor threads, though).

Giveaway "Rules"

1. Comment on this post on Kitten Stitching and the Friday Frolics to enter (be clear that you wish to enter the giveaway) = one entry.

AND/OR

2. Comment on the corresponding post on Kitten Stitching (again be clear that you want to enter the giveaway) = one entry.

[So, yes, you can get two entries into the draw]

3. I will post ANYWHERE IN THE WOLRD, although I cannot guarantee how long it will take for you to get it in this Time of Covid - lol!

4. Giveaway closes at midnight, January 31st AEDT (Australian Eastern Daylight Time)

5. Good Luck!🍀

The second project which I managed to get two lines of stitching done last evening - but only because TraderVic and I bingewatched the third season of Cobra Kai last night - lol! ...

... is another design which I received as part of my The Silver Needle's "A Little Help from Our Friends Stitching Circle" called "F is for Friend" by Heartstring Samplery Design.

As I said, just a couple of rows of stitching but a stitch is a stitch is a stitch!

Click on the FNSI logo below, if you would like to see what everyone else got up to last evening.

Friday Frolics + FNwF = FUN!

As you can read in this post, this past Friday was Friday Night with Friends .....

... this is a virtual sew-in hosted by the lovely Cheryll from Gone Stitchin'.

.... and I promised to tell you more about what I chose to stitch on....

This design is "Be my Friend" by The Scarlett House. It is design which I received as part of my The Silver Needle's "A Little Help from Our Friends Stitching Circle".

... and here is my progress pic...

I added the heart, the left hand chair and bird and started the urn and the house.  I would have been even further advanced if I had not had to frog the left hand chair twice!!!!!  Aaagghh!

I wonder what I will choose to stitch on the coming Friday????

Thanks for visiting,

Starting 2021 off right ....

.... with lots of cross stitch, that is!

I have moving house on on my mind at the moment - our second new house will be ready in a few short months, so I thought that it was time that I reinstated Friday Frolics into my stitching roster!

So, to that end, I dug around and found this piece languishing in my WIP pile:

It is "Queen Anne House" by Mill Hill.  After some solid stitching (and frogging - boo hoo!) I felt that some real progress was made.

I wonder what next Friday will bring?

Finally....

.... a Friday Frolics post from me! [Alas, still several days late as somehow it is now Tuesday! All the days seem to be melting into one another under Iso.]

Anyway, onto the stitching. This past Friday I picked up Morning Song by Just Nan which I have not stitched on for absolute ages.  This is where I was up to:

... and this is my progress - on the top band I stitched two tree trunks and some of the leaves on one of the trees and started the house but unfortunately it is too far to the right (I left off a bit of the white fence) so it will need to be frogged - bummer!
I also finished the pink flower on the bottom right.

I actually do not have that much more to do on this - finish the top band and then finish the band with the pink flowers on the bottom and add another narrow band and I will be done!

I must remember to pick this project up again very soon.

Strawberry House

This week I picked up Strawberry House by LHN. The last time I stitched on it was in September 8th, 2015, where I struggled to get much stitching done on it as I kept having to frog different sections and then somehow lost my Crescent Colours Ladybug floss!

So, this is how I found the piece.

Unfortunately, I still can't find my Ladybug floss - so, yesterday, all of that had to be frogged and I started again with WDW Begonia - a bit pinker but it will still work very well, I think.

Hopefully, this will be the last I will see of the Frog Prince for a while now.

Oh, I have a giveaway on my Kitten Stitching blog, please visit if would like to join in all the fun.

A long neglected UFO...

... finally made a return appearance after languishing for about six and a half years!!!!!!

Check out my last post which featured "The Faerie Queen Sampler" by The Scarlet Letter way back in July 2013.

[The troubles to which I refer in this post are the fact that my mother was dying (her health failed dramatically from March that year until her death on Nov 25, 2013) and that my work was in the midst of a huge restructure and that my job was hanging in the balance for a while there in 2013].

Anyway, here she is pre-Friday Frolics yesterday:

... and for Friday Frolics I managed to finish the satin stitch on the other half of the leaf.  I must say, this is stitched with silk thread which is a dream to stitch with.

However, as you can see from the pic below, I still have a looooong way to go until this beauty is finished. Although I am determined not to wait another six and a half years to stitch on her again.

When FNSI and Friday Frolics collide.... February edition

I worked on two projects yesterday, Friday, for FNSI and Friday Frolics - one small and one larger.... and drum roll, please.....

Both are Happy Dances!

First is PS Santa 2005 - I love the fact that he is holding a quilt and sewing equipment.

... and the second is Snowflake Serenade by CCN - I really love this design - the soft palette is so very gorgeous.

As you can imagine, I am Happy Dancing all over the house to have two finishes, especially Snowflake Serenade, which has been in my WIP pile for a while now.

Also, don't forget to check out the other FNSIers, here.
